FINGERPRINT IMAGE ENHANCEMENT USING DIRTY FILTER GABOR | Muhammad Nasir
Fingerprint recognition system aims to identify fingerprints, but the main obstacle in the person's fingerprint recognition in general have a low image quality, among others caused by oily skin, dry, and can be caused by defects or quality of the fingerprint hardware used. The quality of the fingerprint image is the main factor determining the level of accuracy of the fingerprint image recognition biometric system. The main problem in this research is on a dirty fingerprint image with low image quality. So that the image of dirty fingerprints easily interpreted by humans and machines, it is necessary in the enhancement into another hoss intropia image quality is better, by removing the dirty parts. The process of improving the quality of the fingerprint image in this study using Gabor filters. Gabor filter is a band-pass filter can be set closer to the frequency group anywhere in the frequency domain. So hopefully by using Gabor filter can improve the quality of the fingerprint and also able to find the structure of the fingerprint image is of good quality.
