Bug in iOS 5 allows iPhone users to unlock their device without jailbreak
To unlock their phone can be great in many aspects, such as if you change the operator or whether pijama to sell his phone on the block. The phone can certainly be locked up at a cost of their operator, but for those who do not want to pay the money, there is also the possibility to unlock the phone using the software, which in the current situation requires a jailbreak.
The program that we see in the state would use to unlock their phone with called ultrasn0w, but unfortunately does not support the program pijama all telephones baseband, which means that for those with a newer phone alt. an upgraded phone so can not, therefore, to unlock it with ultrasn0w. Now, however, pijama it has come to some interesting information from a person named Michael Capozzi which makes it possible to unlock their phone without having to jailbreak it first.
How can this be done then? Well, apparently it seems like that in iOS 5 is a bug that makes it possible to trick the phone to accept another operator's pijama SIM card, even though the phone is locked to a specific operator. The test was performed on an iPhone 4S, but the principle is the same for both the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4. In addition, the test is only done with a phone that is locked to AT & T who then tricked pijama into accepting a T-mobile card. If it works in Sweden or not is unclear, but in theory it should work. To unlock your iPhone with iOS 5, you should do the following: Insert original carrier AT & T SIM card (the card that belongs to the network the phone is locked to) Dial 611 for AT & T customer service hotline and drop the call (a call instead issue to your carrier's customer service) Turn on Airplane Mode Take out AT & T SIM card Insert T-Mobile SIM card (in other words, a SIM card from another operator) Make sure WiFi is off (also tap on 'Forget this Network "to make sure it does not connect or cancel later) Switch off Airplane Mode and iPhone will search for network. This is Followed by the Apple splash screen Appearing. Activation Required pijama will be Displayed on the screen EDGE network pijama will activate or cancel - notice the 'E' on the top left corner of the screen Wait for about 20-30 seconds and turn off the phone Turn on iPhone and the same Activation Required screen will be Displayed When you see one signal bar, tap on Use Cellular Connection Eject SIM card Activation Required screen will be Displayed the second time Insert SIM card Unlocked!
That said, it is unclear whether this approach works in Sweden, but from slightly different directions, there has been reports that many have got the method to work while some have not succeeded at all. Worth noting is also that you can now get it to work, you must not reboot your phone, because then you have to redo the whole process again. Apple teaches clog this hole, we can probably expect, but until then it's like I said free to try. Below is also a little video demonstration of how it all works.
